Xingsen Catalytic activated carbon is a functional material that is derived from ordinary activated carbon by introducing catalytic active components (such as metals, metal oxides, non-metallic elements, etc.), thereby enabling it to possess both adsorption capacity and catalytic activity.
Xingsen Catalytic activated carbon has strong adsorption capacity, with a specific surface area typically ranging from 800 to 2000 m²/g. The high specific surface area provides sufficient adsorption sites, making it suitable for the enrichment of gas/liquid pollutants. The catalytic efficiency of catalytic activated carbon is determined by the size (nano-scale dispersion) of metal particles, oxidation state (such as Cu²⁺/Cu⁰), and the interaction with the carbon matrix (such as electron transfer).
Example: Catalytic activated carbon loaded with Pt exhibits significant catalytic oxidation activity for CO in hydrogen purification.
The catalytic activated carbon has high mechanical strength, is resistant to wear, can withstand temperatures above 800 degrees Celsius, and has anti-poisoning properties. The surface functional groups or protective layer can inhibit the poisoning of toxic substances such as sulfur and chlorine to the catalytic sites.
